#1: standard radio not going off when i take key out Author: ma.langan, Location: Leyland, LancashirePosted: Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:35 pm ---- did a quick search but couldn't find anything related...
i still have the standard radio in my car but when i stop the engine and take the key out the radio stays on, as well as half the ignition, like i have the key turned one click.
while its like this the car wont lock and it takes about 10 min for it to go off then the car will lock.
ive found to skip the ten min wait i can just push the cig lighter in and everything goes off and the car will lock.
its like the radio is picking up some charge from somewhere and then i discharge it with the lighter...
any ideas?
thanks
2004 1.4 hdi

Not replaced any brake light bulbs recently or changed the rear light clusters?

ill try the bsi reboot tomorrow

I know that I can sit in the car with everything off and turn the radio on and it turns itself off after 10-15 minutes. None of the dashlights are on with it, but never tried locking it while the radio is on as I'm usually sat in it waiting for people.
Mr BSI beat me to the reboot suggestion. If a Peugeot had a connection with Microsoft, they would put CTRL, ALT and DEL buttons on the dash to make life easier.
