#13: Re: failing an MOT on emissions now what ? :( Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Mar 10, 2012 3:00 am ---- did they check the O2 sensor at all?
#14: Re: failing an MOT on emissions now what ? :( Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:35 am ---- Yes, it's likely your lambda/o2 sensor is shafted ... was it disturbed when you had the new exhaust fitted?
Our 206CC 2.0 has two ... one pre-cat, one post-cat ... but until I get PP working I can't tell which is screwed .. one is, the code reader I have tells me!

#19: Re: failing an MOT on emissions now what ? :( Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2012 10:13 am ---- Personal opinion but it is rather foolish passing the MOT this way. A car not running right will knacker your new cat. I suggest, as others have, that you probably have a sensor fault MAF / MAP or Lambda.
From the readings it is, for a modern engine, running quite rich and at today's fuel prices that will soon add up and long term the fuel costs will outweigh sorting the sensor let alone the cost of another knackered cat.
