Put the money towards a supercharger/another car lol

Only thing that puts me off this car is the spoiler and drums.
Other than that its a step in the right direction.

I would get valeo masked headlights tho, as the light output on angels is horrid, up close is fine, but on a back road at night you'll soon notice the difference.

No it wont, it will be worth LESS!

People will just see a ruined / boyracered 206 thats been thrashed & abused.

Will it?

If you sold your car and used £2500 you could get a way quicker car anyway.

Engine mods are dead money, you'll lose loads.

yeah but still i cant afford faster cars at the moment, as of my age im only 17, yet the only way to get my car faster is to modify it, it may not increase the cars value yet, how many people do you know has a 206 1.6 8v turbo, yet it would be unique as i cant see many of them at all! Smile

and not reli with it being abused, as i would have the engine rebuild receipt too as it would be on near enough 0 miles, so would be a good investment i believe and have been told by numerous of people Smile

Engine mods are not a good investment mate. Thats simple facts. Take all the above comments as a pinch if salt if you wish but people know a thing or two! An engine rebuild and turbo would come in at well over 2.5k
You have to factor in all the additional work like higher spec brakes ect. All you would be doing is alienating your car from the vast anmount of buyers when you came to sell it. Not many people want to buy modified cars. Let alone try and insure a car thats had a turbo conversion. By the way, have you asked your insurance company how much your premium would go up by?

i can see where your coming from mate, im just saying at the end of the day, we all like to modify our cars to the best that it can be and go to meets and shows and be different, so thats what im trying to do, there's plenty of websites that sell off modified cars, and im paying 2500 a year with my dad on the policy atm with all his no claims discount on my car and yes ive had a quote and its onyl a few hundred more with a turbo, and yes i understand that i need to have all brakes uprated and all that but tbh, money isnt an issue, im just a young lad interested in having a project done on my car to be different like you used too Smile

Do what you like but it will not increase the value, only narrow your market.

You'll upgrade it, get used to the power in 2 weeks then realise it's reached it's peak and want a new car.

And 2.5k to insure a car and a few hundred more isn't a problem? Plus 2.5k for the turbo. You're mad. Laughing

ey mate, like i say money has never been the issue Wink if you got it spend it, be worth it in the end, probs going to get a diesel turbo and run it on low boost about half bar 7psi and have a little map, i can do all that and give it a good oil feed and return, get the 2 manifolds and a few boost pipes and il be pushing 160bhp out of it, that way not spending 2500 on it but still get that nice turbo spoil, the smaller turbos spin up quice nicely to get a quick spoil! thanks for your concerns anyway guys! i wont have the market value like u say, but there will be some french head out there who will take it off me when i can insure something bigger! Very Happy

ey mate, like i say money has never been the issue ;) if you got it spend it, be worth it in the end, probs going to get a diesel turbo and run it on low boost about half bar 7psi and have a little map, i can do all that and give it a good oil feed and return, get the 2 manifolds and a few boost pipes and il be pushing 160bhp out of it, that way not spending 2500 on it but still get that nice turbo spoil, the smaller turbos spin up quice nicely to get a quick spoil! thanks for your concerns anyway guys! i wont have the market value like u say, but there will be some french head out there who will take it off me when i can insure something bigger! I don’t want to point out the obvious but if money never has been an issue why not buy something originally faster that’s in good condition, and spend more on your insurance?? if your looking at spending 2.5k on insurance then 2.5k on turboing the 206 then like 300 on extra insurance because of the turbo that’s £5300 plus what you paid for the car maybe £1k-£2k then all other mods you’d be doing I don’t know another £500-£1000 so in total you’ll be spending from £6800 to £8300 Shocked you could surely get a car with good standard bhp and insure it for that, just trying to be realistic on this one but would be good to see as a finished project to be honest, and certainly would turn a few heads at some French car shows if done Smile

Not fancy getting hold of the 1.6 16v? and doing the work to that? Im sure there's loads more info on that Engine with it being the 106 saxo engine? and might be easier to sell the engine+mods on its own afterwords.

Also Im all for it, if that's what YOU want to do then do it, just make sure you get the brakes, suspension, tyres maybe even a roll cage sorted before going for the power Very Happy
