#1: need a garage to drop a torsion bar Author: 138Andy, Location: NottsPosted: Sun Mar 18, 2012 5:15 am ---- im looking for a garage that would be able to drop the torsion bar on my pug206 60-80mm iv been around a few of my local ones but they tell me its tricky and they never done it before so wouldnt want to attempt it any one in nottingham area no of any garages or anyone that would be able to do this ??

Jack the back end up and put it on axle stands, remove torx bolts and washers on the end of the torsion bars, measure the distance from the hub to the arch and take note. Spray on plenty of WD40 and maybe even some Deox-c might work wonders here, remove the bars and adjust the arms to match the drop you want (if you want 40, raise them 40) put a jack under one of them to hold it in place whilst you put the bars back in.
If you have the tools its not as hard as everyone makes it out, there's a more detailed guide on here by Ape in the how-to section. Garages tend to ask about £100 for this thing, and I've seen some of them do it the click method which will ruin things in the long run.

I don't drive the car much or far so its not a problem for now.
Anyone in sussex wanna offer their services for my rear axle for a 35mm drop?

Any drop they wear faster, peugeot designed it to be at that height for a reason
If you dont have much knowledge about cars, oh go dont attempt it, its not an easy job when it goes wrong

Its personal preference if you do and again with how much you drop.
