I used to travel 250 miles a week when i first started my job and it didnt bother me being that low. It was HIGHLY uncomfortable compared to standard 206's but it was worth it
She handled like a shed in corners but i didnt really mind

I do between 5 and 6 hundred miles a week in the GTi and thats dropped 85mm on the back

Its a straight forward job though. Personally I would say replace the bearings anyway for what its worth then you don't have to worry about the axle f*****g up one day.
