#1: MFD DISPLAY FOR BONNET OPEN Author: glenwatkins, Location: yorkPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:01 am ---- Hi
I am getting a display on the mdf of a car but doesnt look like any doors are open. When I start engine I then get the beeps and stop light flashing. I opened and closed my bonnet which seems to have cleared it but then did the same next day. I have again opened and closed the bonnet but it hasnt cleared it this time.
1. Can anyone suggest what the problem is
2. Can anyone send me a pic of what the display should show when the bonnet is open
Any help would be appreciated

Switch will have fallen of the bonnet catch
If it has a factory alarm system fitted then it will have a small black switch clipped on to the catch.

Could someone possible open their bonnet and then turn ignition and take a photo of mfd, It is showing a car but not sure if it shows bonnet open or not. Also when locking car it now gives out a single beep which it didnt do.

On the 206 picture on the MFD the bonnet turns ORANGE if open.
Reason for the beep on locking is the switch is telling the BSI the bonnet is open

Edit: just checked, opened the bonnet, found the little black plunger, it it pretty solidly fixed, but the plunger itself moves in and out, yet no warning on the mfd, or no beep when setting the alarm when the bonnet is fully open

Disconnect it & see if the MFD now shows the bonnet open, if it doesnt then try shorting the 2 terminals in the loom plug together & see if the MFD now shows bonnet open.
