You would be best dropping a engine in it one that can be seen running first other than that you will need a rebuild. Is the engine damaged ie bottom end top end?

What year and colour is your car out off couriosity?

To be honest it would proberly work out cheaper to get a engine out off a write off rather than rebuild if it's the bottom end.

How trust worthy are the garage? Worth getting a second opinoin?

I would off got a sump put oil in ans see how it ran.

Difficult choice mate could even work out same price to buy another 180 as there going cheap these days.

Only read post one. Laughing

I'm surprised the insurance are letting you claim that. As normally they would say you should have been travelling at a safe distance behind to stop in an emergency.

well i was getting to a round about and the lorry had already shed its load blocking the inside and middle lane and with loads a stuff rolling about on the round about aswell so every one is trying to get by all the stuff and ive tried to let it pass under the car as there was nowhere else to go: ( got police inccedent number and that so trying to claim against the lorry driver : )

I'd get it out the insurance approved garage ASAP for a start, they will jack the prices up simply for being in partners with the scam that insurance has become. If you really want to keep the car then get a second hand engine with low miles and find a trustworthy independant garage to swap the engines over, just get the cambelt done whilst the engines out.

I worry that if you rebuild the engine then something else may have been affected but overlooked but at the same time putting a new engine in, what a nightmare but I would recommend you take the car to a garage that will have a warranty just in case. Good luck
