Thanks for all the replies. Back to square one again, think my xsara needs a new power steering pump, new fuel pump (Why im chucking it). Just put new back pads and discs plus a oil change last week.
You can buy a 2.0 and make it look nice, you can polish a turd and it will look good! Reliability over looks most on here would go for.

If you are set on a 206 for around 2k start looking around the 04-06plate range which has the better specs. Less money is then spent making it look modern.
That 206 has been sat in a field for a few months before Peugeot sold it though.
