Maybe a silly question but whats ECO mode? I have no hand book. Whats better on fuel? When ever I select auto it goes onto A/C mode

It turns off the AC Pump in Eco Mode.

Eco is better on fuel (I thought that would be obvious).

well so did i but why does it automaticly go onto A/C mode then when i switch it on "auto"? Plus the revs dont change when either eco or a/c mode is on

You should notice a tick then it should be slightly higher revs, well it is in mine.

If the system is out of gas, it will not turn the pump on to protect itself. So you need to regas the system (if that is the problem).

When you click Auto, it turns on the AC because AC isn't just to cool air. It removes moisture as well (and you do get warm air when you have the AC one). This aids in screen demisting among other things.

Nice useful bit of info mate, so as soon as the A/C is on, regardless of temp its using fuel right?

AC does use slightly more fuel BUT running with the AC turned off & opening a window to let in cool air will use more Wink

Mr BSI can answer this re. the 206 but on my Audi, the AC Pump only runs at 4c and above.

And in my opinion, I would keep it on constantly as MrBSI said.

My gti a/c doesnt work wont go ice cold. I have noticed not having the cc on at all its better on fuel. My other gti a/c is ice cold, would that mean it needs re-gassing?

I doubt its leaking but they do normally require a regas when it hasn't been used for time.
