Ok, I have this problem,

Today I cleaned the engine using a power wash and after that The Abs waring light turned on... I dont think that I actually have problems in my abs but what can I do to switch it off? Where is the abs sensor? thanks

btw mine is 1999 1.4l petrol, with front disc breaks.

Did you power wash the engine? If so, take more care next time. I wouldnt worry about the light, has happened to me a few times, just drive it around a few times and the light will dissapear.

Unless you have actually done something!

And I noticed that the warning light (ABS) only switch on with the hand break.

While driving it turns off immediately.

Does this mean that my ABS system is not working properly? Or it is just a sensor fault?

Thankyou

If it were me I'd start by disconnecting battery (follow the correct process) then go round all sensors in the engine bay disconnecting and give them a good spray with water repellent (wd40) and a quick blast of electric contact cleaner. Then reboot bsi and see if it has cleared. Pressure washing engine bays on modern cars is not clever really with all the electrics

Ok, just to let you know that the light no longer comes on,

Thankyou all for your help, I will not power wash my engine bay again although it came out great hehe.
