#1: Gearbox issue? Author: L5_UKS, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:16 pm ---- Well today I was cleaning my car and noticed that the drivers side wheel had all black stuff on the inside it just looked like dirt, but after removing the wheel to clean inside it turned out to be some kind of oil.
Thought nothing of it, cleaned it all off so I could check if it returned.
However after driving it tonight, the gearbox has started to knock, It would knock if you let off the power if you had the power on it wouldn't.
Could it be that the gearbox oil has come out? causing it to knock?
Or what else could it be?
