Just purchased the Cable Assy Kit 842461, plus Sunroof Buffer Kit, 841099 and are very keen to fit these replacement parts over what we call Easter long weekend. This sunroof is in very good condition but some plastic bits have become brittle, our summers are tough on plastics. Supplied Vin number to local dealer whom then supplied parts as requested. Someone suggested that cables are better if inserted from inside of car being underside of sunroof, is that the recommended procedure? My original intension was to do as much as possible from topside without attempting to remove headlining, hopefully someone may have completed this sunroof work already. Looking forward to all comments & suggestions, best regards to all.

I think you should take the head liner off,so that you can everything clearly, and manage to replace all the parts you need to fix.

Many thanks Timon2210, I have taken your advice and removed hood lining firstly, have removed glass roof panel & removed Aluminium section which contains the sliding felt panel, all went fine, only requires one torque size, did discover a few broken pieces inside channels, gave everything a thorough clean in preparation for fitting the new parts, removed sunroof motor, tested it, noted how far it travels, checked conditions, wear & tear etc.

Tomorrow I will insert new (lubicated) cables kit, plus will replace plenty of rubber slide faces with corner pieces, will report back to this forum with a report on progress, best regards to all

Hi
Can I pick your brains about your 206 sunroof?!?
I've got to do the same as you (sun does shine in the UK...occasionally!!!)

The plastic bits connected to the cable which grip the glass roof are broken
Do you need to do it from below or can it be done from above?
How do you get them out of the track and the new ones in? or is it obvious
when you remove the headlining...?
Do I need to remove the glass roof? is that easy to do?

Thanks v much in advance for any help you can give.
Tony
