#1: What does...... Author: Stez, Location: GranthamPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 5:28 am ---- A dodgy clutch release bearing sound like?
I've been getting some squeaking when the engines cold for a few months now & looking around these forums I thought it might be the auxiliary belt but I've just changed that( I also started the engine without the belt to rule out the tensioner & alternator) but its still there. I had a new cambelt & water pump fitted a couple of years ago. I've also noticed that at a standstill depressing the clutch effects the sqeal. The thing is its not a regular sqeak it comes & goes and on the odd occasion in the mornings it doesn't do it at all!
Also I'm getting a vibration rattle which I now know is the cover around the cat which is loose & can be wobbled about by hand. Does this need to be on the cat or can it be removed? I initially thought it was the heat guard on the manifold as it had corroded around one of the fixing holes but I've replaced that.
Thanx
