#1: What are these parts? Author: Squeaker, Location: En Route to the Premiership 2012/13Posted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:52 am ---- And what do they do?
Found this on service box
Still doesnt show what the silver box is. there's also another one of the small black things on drivers side. Are these just sensors for the airbags???
Still doesnt help what the silver box is, could it be this?
Is there a second hand market for these parts?
Thanks

Black thing is the side airbag satellite sensor.

Are they really £400 from the dealer??

So i'm guessing the silver box in front of the gear stick is the main control unit for the airbags? So if you want to upgrade to GTI interior with side airbags, you'd need those 2 sensors and the control unit? Or are there other parts needed?
And all this is unplug, sell on, plug back in and all working fine?
Thanks

Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:12 pm ---- Silver box tells the ESP ecu the YAW angle of the car & it uses this data as well as the steering angle sensor data fed from the com2000 unit to work out if the ESP system needs to activate to maintain the drivers intended direction of travel.
As for the black sensor, you need a pair of those & a airbag ecu configured for side airbags plus the car to have the correct wiring loom fitted.
Not sure if the BSI configuration needs tweaking aswell, Peugeot main dealer did mine when I did the side airbag retrofit.
#6: Re: What are these parts? Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:26 pm ---- ESP often uses a motorised throttle too to reduce engine output. No point in trying to straighten the car if the driver is giving it full throttle round a corner...
#7: Re: What are these parts? Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:29 pm ---- Pretty sure on the 206 if it has ESP it also has the fly by wire throttle fitted so the ESP ecu can take control of the throttle input to the engine ecu.
