#1: 1.4hdi loud ticking noise Author: Andreus84, Location: NorfolkPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 1:18 am ---- Morning guys & Gals, my car has recently started ticking quite loudly, now i know that the 1.4hdi is a noisy engine generally but this is on top of the usual racket.
Not sure what it could be and don't understand diesel engines too well.
Any ideas what this could be or where to start looking.
Its a 2005 206 1.4hdi, 81k on clock.

Does it make it when it's warm and cold or just cold or just warm?

Could be valve tappets adjustment needed. (if it has them)
