#1: bleeding with ABS Author: paulspug, Location: Spalding lincolnshirePosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 9:34 am ---- GTI abs as standard
i have trolled through forums and couldnt find anything about bleeding brakes with ABS. -my apaologies if i have missed it.
i will have to fit new pads/discs soon, also my friend is in need of some new pads.
so, i have ezebleed kit, which is pretty straight forward on normal cars (no abs), but, am i right in thinking that when i push the caliper piston in: that i should open the bleed nipple so not to upset the ABS?
then ofc just bleed as normal when all the pads are fitted.
Or is there another way that i have missed?
kind regards

#4: Re: bleeding with ABS Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:54 am ---- i will be doing this soon also and last time i did it the usual way with a coke bottle
i have never cracked the nippe prior to fitting pads etc would this have andy negative effect to the car as i have changed pads 2times and when i got my calipers fitted it was just bled up
i wil be getting mine pressure bled once i have fitted braided hoses

when on the track im sure they will be better than standard as i cooked my brakes in 2 laps last year massive fade as my pedal hit the floor
ill do all i can to improve that
#8: Re: bleeding with ABS Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 1:50 pm ---- They'll still fade the same as before with braided hoses fitted. Pedal will drop further still.
#9: Re: bleeding with ABS Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 2:31 pm ---- that's pedal fade, you boiled your brake fluid.
even fresh stock fluid shouldn't be that bad.
