#1: non stop fuel pump Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 2:22 pm ---- ive messed on with my fuel pump etc. and now the pump will prime normaly then stop before firing up but when running the engine the fuel pump seems to run non stop?is this normal and if not what can i do about it?p.s.does anyone no how to get the big black threaded ring right and tight back on the fuel pump?or know where to get the suggested special tool supposedly available?because its a b***h of a job on and off.The tool looks a bit like a wide 20inch letter U with a smaller letter n fixed underneath with the dimensions to slot into the small plastic posts on the big black threaded ring nut securing the pump with the upper U shape giving 2 handles to grip onto to hold and force the big black ring round.wether it works or not i do not know,i just know these things are tight before removal then tight when being refitted?

When i changed my fuel pump i used a flat headed screw driver and hammer to remove the ring, and the same to put it back on.

Several have told me it is fine but to be honest I DONT TRUST a word they say when it comes to cars, dont think they could find the engine lol
