#1: Granty's 206 Quicksilver 1.4 Author: grantynp3, Location: Newport,South WalesPosted: Fri Apr 20, 2012 7:46 am ---- Been on this forum for a while now but never really got round to making a thread so ill just do the progress from start to how its standing now ..
after writing off my 106 quiksilver .. which i loved to pieces and spent alot of money and time on i was on the hunt for another ... couldnt find one anywhere but stumbled across a 206 ... wasnt much but it grew on me so i finally went to look at it and picked it up for 950..
206 quiksilver 1.4 2002
FSH
105,000 Miles
5 months mot , 6 months tax
Only have 1 picture of when i first had it
Second day of having it i wanted to spice it up atleast a bit for the mean time so quickly sprayed the wheel trims
It also came with those rear lights .. not so fussed on them but you will get to see what happens with them soon
Next update ... finally swapped my number plate onto the car .. not much but when you got a numberplate it means something to you when its on .. good feeling
Nice update now comes ... 2 of my friends have started up a business .. doing wrapping and window tinting ... had a bit of money spare so i thought why not ... Carbon roof wrap ... and also back 3 tinted Limo
... Heres the bad part ... Christmas eve .. a lorry was parked near the exit of a petrol station .. i jus filled up and a line was driving by the side of it as the guy had his hazards on in the lorry and was taking the cones away ... as i went to drive passed and looked he decided to jump back in and pull out .. as he pulled out i looked behind to see if i could quickly reverse so he didnt hit me ... but it was either get hit by the lorry which is his fault n he pays out or reverse into the merc which would be my fault so i stayed put and unfortunately watch the lorry start to crush the wing in .. luckily it wasnt as much damage as i thought it was going to be .. i couldnt claim as i wasnt covered due to my roof and tints ... so the 1 year of panel beating and 2 years of mechanics came in handy ... he cracked my charcoal cannister and scraped a bit of my door and smashed the wing in ...
i finally sorted that took a while .. but i ordered a wing online .. and when it arrived apparently being silver .. i had the moonstone blue so i sprayed it up havent got a picture atm though .... so yeah anyway about the lights ... heres the change...
soon after came my mot and those lights were a pain ass theyd cum on and off when they want so i decided to get a set of standards off my mate ... mot failed on horn and back brakes but now finally all sorted .. even though my horn is terrible haha ... moving onto things .. one of my good mates was breaking his saxo ... and he had a nice set of vtr wheels on there .. in silver not so bad condition ... so i decided to spray them up and chuck them on .. dont see many 206's with them on and me personally not liking them when they were silver on changed as i think they dont actually look to bad being black ...
all i really want now is too lower it atm .. which i should be doing now in a few weeks .. heres a pic of my car and johnboy1989's car also ... my car is photoshopped lowered with front masked lights .. what you think ?
... Also as ive never shown you pics of my 106 .. heres some

and yeah lower it and mask the lights
#4: Re: Granty's 206 Quicksilver 1.4 Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:48 am ---- You said you couldnt claim because of your tints ect.....does that not make your insurance void then? As essentially if you hit someone else and it was your fault, your insurance company wouldnt pay out for the same reason.
#5: Re: Granty's 206 Quicksilver 1.4 Author: grantynp3, Location: Newport,South WalesPosted: Fri Apr 20, 2012 11:10 am ---- yeah im definately in for the rear m3's and 100% defo lower it cheers for the feedback guys appreciate it ... and yeah i couldnt claim as i had my wrap and tints done the same day as i got hit and never declared it as the job didnt get finnished till half 7 at night as my mate done it in his unit ... so it would sound as if just because i got hit i wanted to declare if you know what i mean .. and yeah its the same as that as because we would leave both insurers to sort it out and be assessed by both companys so if they turned up and seen the roof and theyd go against seeing it and say its void
