If it's hydraulic as Seabook says, it will most likely need toping-up, then find
the leak/problem.

just thinking here...topping up...is it same reservoir as the brake fluid ?

as my clutch still works but is notchy and bite is mega high...no warnings or nothing..just happened suddenly

You could try and bleed the clutch but I think it's going to be OK.
If that wear in the hose was letting air in, it would let fluid out. It might be thicker but it's under a fair amount of pressure when you push the pedal down. But the hose is multi-layered. There's another hose under the braiding, which is there for strength, then another over that (which is worn through). Check all the pipe from the master cylinder to the slave .. our 1.4 hose went were it joins the metal pipe but under the battery tray so it was hard to see ... but the pedal just went to the floor. Doddle to replace though as they clip in ... then it needs bleeding.
I can't be 100% but I think your clutch is worn and the self-adjustment on the hydraulics has been taken up. If it was ragged, the driver has probably slipped and burnt the clutch a few times ...

is it possible for a slave to be f***** but not leak ?
will get good lady to press pedal and i will see whats happening at slave end...so if slave aint pressing right that means that my problem is slave back...and if it is pressing right in then my problem is in the box somewheres ???
this sound bout right ???

anybody any ideas whats making it shake lol
