Hi, i have recently purchased a replacement steering wheel for my 206 which came to me with the air-bag attached. I CANNOT for the life of me figure out how I'm meant to get the air-bag off. I know I have to do something with the metal clip inside the hole but I cannot figure it out. Am I meant to push it forwards/backwards/straight down? Everything I have tried so far hasn't worked! any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did you buy the right one?

Screw on or clip on?

Mux or non-mux?

Mine is a multip[lexed steering wheel so its just one hole for the airbag clip behind the vertical stalk. Just cant see how that clip is meant to release the airbag....

The hole in th bottom of the wheel has a wire inside. You may need someone else or find a way to hold the steering wheel tight because on mine I swapped out the standard wheel for a GTI one and I put a flat blade screw driver across the wire and gave it a firm but quick knock towards the centre of the wheel.
Quick word of warning as it happened to me... Once you get the bolt out the centre of the wheel and your knocking the wheel off the column watch out for the airbag and horn wires. I thumped the back of the wheel towards me sat in drivers seat and as it came off it ripped the plugs off the airbag Sad
Hope this helps
