206 Vs Puddle
-> 206 Problems

Well... put simply, was out in my 2000reg 2.0HDI yesterday and went through what i thought was jus a bit of surface water....turned out to be a bit deeper than i first thought!
Engine didnt bog down or have any problems, not caused any knocks or rattles or anything. Shortly after my engine management light came on and ive lost boost. (rest of the journey was gutless til 2250rpm then a ton of boost, today, no boost at all)
Can hear the turbo spinning up, but runs like its on limp home mode. Took the airfilter out and it was pretty wet, dried the airbox and took it for a spin to see if the wet filter was restricting the flow, no change in performance.
What sorta things should i be looking at, is there a chance it could just dry out?
Cheers, Craig

Is your oil ok? Check it for signs of water. Look for a mayo colour on the oil cap. Water can get sucked up the air intake.

Got no signs of water in the oil.

You might get away with drying it out. If your airbox got soaked, there is a good chance that some of the electrics did too.

If the EML is on, get the codes read and see what it says. Might be a damaged sensor or even just a connector that has become dislodged from the water hitting it.

LOL...you can be so funny sometimes Mr. :D,get it scanned,and change the airfilter don't wait for things to dry,you are so lucky that the water have not been sucked through air to your engine,or your engine would say bye bye Sad

Its drying out at the mo, as i yesterday found quite a bad power steering fluid leak , ordering the pipe today so once thats sorted gonna take it for diagnostics. (assuming it hasnt simply dried)
Dont feel quite so silly being the 3rd person to do it lol.
Whilst i was out tinkering yesterday, fitted my new wheels, so as soon as shes on on the road again will get some pics up Smile

Just a quick update..
Managed to repair the low pressure power steering pipe. Had been rubbing on the High pressure pipe running parallel and worn through.
Took the car for diagnostics, had a code for MAF sensor. Taken it off, cleaned it up...and she runs like a dream again! Very Happy
Hoping for a sunny weekend to get the service done and give the car a good scrub up! (with as little water as possible! Lol )
