#1: 2002 Pug 206 1.4 HDI Tapping noise when cold. Author: richardsoc, Location: southamptonPosted: Tue May 01, 2012 7:25 am ---- Hi i have a 2002 206 1.4 HDI with 75K miles on it. And it has a Loud tapping noise on tick over and when Reved. I took it to the local garage but by the time i got there the car had stopped doing it. Which makes me belive It only does it when cold.
Some people say it could be a lift or Pulley. any known faults. ?

I had the crankshaft pulley replaced on mine and it used to do it when both cold and warm.
When was the engine oil last changed?
If it is too old and worn out then it won't help with tapping when cold.
