#1: just had a bad accident Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Wed May 02, 2012 1:40 pm ---- hello just had quite a bad accident, I'm in need of any help on what i may need to replace!
I've basically smashed off the bottom corner of my sump i noticed right away and turned the car off so have not damaged the internals, all i can think off is i need a new sump but looked on service box and there £360 that seems a hell of a lot to me, will it be a job i can do myself or is it quite an intense job not like undo the 16 or so bolts and it will pull off?
Any help will be great thanks

just hope its not run long enough to cause any other damage.

#10: Re: just had a bad accident Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:04 pm ---- not 100% sure on the 180 as never had the bottom end apart on one of them but looks like the oil pump and oil pick up pipe
#11: Re: just had a bad accident Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:08 pm ---- it ran for for about 5 seconds if that! the oil took about 20 mins to drain out, thats what i thought it looks like but am not sure "/
#12: Re: just had a bad accident Author: CPB46, Location: HampshirePosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:10 pm ---- The black pipe looks like the oil pick up, would usually have a mushroom shape gauze on the bottom.
Don't go by halves, do you!! Lol
#13: Re: just had a bad accident Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:13 pm ---- was it knocked right off like it is in the pics or was it just cracked and you pulled it apart if it was just cracked then you may be luckey.
#14: Re: just had a bad accident Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:14 pm ---- always use PSA sump; cheap sump will rust away very shortly.
even a secondhand sump is still good as i rarely see corrosion on the sump
#15: Re: just had a bad accident Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:18 pm ---- only the corner with what i think is oil temp sensor had come off the other bit i just pulled off, so i don't really know no I'm starting to worry i always use original parts where possible but thats for the heads up
