DV6 turbo exchange isnt just bolt a new turbo on, there is a lot of other engine work that needs doing unless you want the replacement turbo to fail very quickly.

If you use the wrong grade of oil, you risk knackering the turbo. If it ain't broke, don't fix it (but on a DV6, I'd prepare for the worst )

you need ACEA C2 or C3 oil (low ash)
and usually they only came in 5w/30.
you are not recommanded to use oil for let say TU5 or EW10 or DW10 engine.
#25: Re: DPF cleaning Author: Ghosty, Location: WiltshirePosted: Tue May 08, 2012 7:48 am ---- thanks seabrook, i was thinking of an oil change come the end of the month, will have to make sure correct oil is used
#26: Re: DPF cleaning Author: darratt78, Location: SwindonPosted: Tue May 08, 2012 12:12 pm ---- Cheers seabrook, I'm guessing Mobil 1 ESP or castrol edge might be a good shout. Will be heading to Gsf or euro for that though, ain't getting mugged up in halfords!

ESP is fine, but castrol edge comes in different grade so you better check the label.
