#197: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:29 am ---- 2bh Harry not realy as I had 180s before but hopefully with this new ARB the back end will feel much better. I mean when I did all the bars at the same time years a go I felt the difference yes but as ive done the bars then doing the ARB later haven't realy noticed yet.
But on a track car that's not doing any road use go 23mm as Edward says it's to harsh for road but tracks are smooth so will be spot on.
#198: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:28 am ---- Ah yeah good point forgot the old ones were the same
I know mate but this one is going to be my daily driver, 19mm is just too thin for track use. I've looked at the load rates further and somewhere between 20 - 21mm is probably better, after all going for 155lb springs at the front. I guess it's better to try and match them as much possible.
#199: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:35 am ---- How have you worked out those rates? Are those wheel rates?
#200: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:48 am ---- Figures are from Sandy Brown, yes those are at the wheel
Having said that the front is much lighter, so obviously the rear needs less spring rate
#201: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 5:14 am ---- I'd go with 21 or 22 Harry if it's a stripped out track car with bucket seats, cage ect I'm sure your not to fussed about comfort lol what shocks you putting on it?

#207: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:01 pm ---- Got my end plate from pug to day for some reason when I rang up last week they told me it was £38.so i bit the bullet and rang up today to order one and they said we have 1 in stock and it's £27??? Lol so I went up on my dinner break and got it. So that's my job for the weekend get the thicker ARB fitted.
#208: Re: *Spike's Project*&*PUG1OFF* Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2012 3:16 pm ---- Fitted the bar today bit of a coparesent of 21mm(standard)-gti180 (22mm) ithink-24mm
I do all my car work at my parents as all my stuff is in my garage there so give it a bit of a 'test' run on the way back to my house and I could defenately feel the difference as I only had the standard 21mm fitted so 1st impressions is a good one.
