HELP! fitting ball joint on a 206 gti.

URGENT!
Has anyone done one before? Im having problems trying to allign the hub. Does the track rod end need to be taken off?

Its a total b***h! I found it easier with another pair of hands. Try to jack the hub up this will give you more room to play with. My car isnt lowered, so i also tightened up my springs with exhaust clamps. no need to remove the track rod.

Im assuming your changing the whole wishbone?

Im replacing the driveshafts. I cant seem to get the hub in line. When I jack the hub up it keeps moving off centre. Would using spring clams help?

Get two people so one can pressure the driveshaft in. and keep trying may take a while

I never use a jack, just pops it out of alignment, just line it up until it's nearly in then tap it with a hammer

Managed to do it by using spring clamps. Compressed the spring enough for me to align the hub and ball joint. Goes in alot easier than it comes out.

Meant to say spring clamps, not exhaust!

I paid a mechanic £40 to change both. Not worth the hassle.
