2005 1.4 auto
History
Car had temp issues changed thermostat and temp switch, slightly too late as car developed oil leak from head gasket.

New gasket/ head skimmed, new timing belt and water pump fitted this was about a month ago. Seemingly all running fine temp gauge working and heater blowing hot no problem.

Did a decent journey last weekend 200 miles sheffield to birmingham straight down and back up with no problems.

Noticed this week that the car has been consuming more fuel than usual, about 100 miles for half tank usually get more like 150 - 175 non motorway driving ( on motorways journey got about 200miles from half tank). Today engine management light popped on stopped to check engine etc... nothing leaking no excessive noise.
Started car and light had gone off everything appeared fine just a bit concerned....... any help or previous experience of fuel issues would be appreciated. History may shed some light on issue mav be totally unrelated

Planning to do: (oil is due)
- change oil/filter
- sparkplugs
- aux belt
- coolant
- air filter

Remember the golden rule with petrol 206's, DON'T fit NGK spark plugs unless you like potential misfires & running problems Laughing

Bosch Super Plus or Super 4 are what most people fit on here.

70 is low.

Had the same thing even though replaced thermostat, then discovered that
the stronger pump (18 teeth cog, bigger blades) was incorrectly fitted as mine had
the big radiator which needs the older type pump (20 teeth cog, small blades).
They are both interchangeble and have been known to be cross-fitted.

Might be worth double-checking on that.
