The machine I pictured. The stand goes under the car and picks up the vibration which then sends it to the machine you're sat on and somehow it works out how much weight and where.

Some of the cars we were working on regularly ran at speeds of 100+mph and the customer demanded the quality and as they spent around £1m a year with us, they got what they wanted. The added bonus was that Joe Bloggs also got the use of the equipment when their car came in for service, but there is no real advantage at normal motorway speeds.
