#1: Air Con and cabin fan not working Author: Phil_G, Location: Leamington SpaPosted: Sun May 20, 2012 1:24 pm ---- Picked up a CC this weekend and it is almost perfect. Noticed a few hours ago that the cabin fans don't work. When I press the ac button a little green light comes on, but nothing else, no fans, no clicks, no increase in rpm.
So had the ac regassed. This hasn't fixed anything. I have only driven 1mile since.
Any thought on what to try next? I have read a guide on the heater resistor, but it seems like this is for when some fan speeds fail, not the whole fan
Cheers
Phil

Just read through the ac diagnostics guide in the hot to forum and realised just how little I know about this engine...

#6: Re: Air Con and cabin fan not working Author: andyleep, Location: GloucestershirePosted: Sun May 20, 2012 2:35 pm ---- Think it'd be normal a/c as he says about the green light coming on
#7: Re: Air Con and cabin fan not working Author: Phil_G, Location: Leamington SpaPosted: Sun May 20, 2012 3:01 pm ---- Yeah, its the normal ac version, not the climate control model.
I am sure the answer is obvious but how do I test the resistor? Just put a multimeter across it? Last edited by Phil_G on Sun May 20, 2012 3:06 pm; edited 1 time in total
#8: Re: Air Con and cabin fan not working Author: andyleep, Location: GloucestershirePosted: Sun May 20, 2012 3:02 pm ---- I would remove the blower motor and directly power it up. If it works, that would point me towards the resistor.....
#9: Re: Air Con and cabin fan not working Author: Phil_G, Location: Leamington SpaPosted: Thu May 31, 2012 7:17 am ---- I was hoping someone could offer some advice on how to remove the blower. I have been able to access it but I just cant seem to turn it,
Some sets of instructions say anti-clockwise, others say clockwise. Can someone say definitively whether the but with the sticker on should be rotated to the top of the car or to the bottom. Also, do you need to push the blower in at the same time as rotating? Can anyone recommend a tool to help? Access is a bit limited and I cant seem to get much torque onto it.
I have checked for a bolt in the hole at the top and it is clear.
