#16: Re: Project Devanification Author: Mephisto, Location: ScotlandPosted: Wed May 23, 2012 2:48 pm ---- I've been a very busy boy today, after a tip off that their was a GTI in the local scrap yard I made a bee line to them the first thing this morning. So after a few hrs dismantling I came away with Sports bumpers, Nimrods, Various bolts I needed and an alloy filler cap, alloy door handles and a couple of bits n bobs. Well chuffed!
So when I got home the postie had also been and left my nice new speakers too, result. So with all this going on I decided to paint my wing mirrors and the turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. I ended up going gloss black n white. I also primed my rubbing strips too!
I think tomorrow I'm gonna get stuck into my alloys, although they are in pretty good condition there are a few curb marks on the rim, so I think ill sand just the rim and give them a wee spray with silver... Good times!
Thanks to everyone who offered me stuff, but I was impatient and it was an opportunity I couldn't miss!
I'll be on beans n toast for the next month! Last edited by Mephisto on Wed May 23, 2012 2:55 pm; edited 1 time in total

The hardest bit was unscrewing the tow bar, but after some serious elbow grease managed to get it off...Behold the fruits of my labour!!
Those effin bolts..
Onto the front bumper, a wee read of the how to really helped..thanks
Painted mirrors added
Back bumper went on easily too ( thanks How to..)
The final look....
My to do list is
a. Fix the puncture in the rear
b. Major wash/Wax/Polish
b. Get a roof spoiler
c.SP arches
d. Gen 2 Lights
Then Ill be happy..oh just need the leather steering wheel fitted
