May have to sell my pug for parts or as it currently sits due to the problem it has still not being solved.

Those who know my 206, would it be better and more money if I broke it for parts or sell it as it is (with current problem) have found a nice red gti with only 77k for £899

the car has a fault which is not being picked up by anything, when the car gets to it's normal running temp, when you give it some gas the engine warning light comes on and the car jerks and bucks as well as the rev needle goes all over the place, when I stop the car will stall but always starts up first time.

When its left running to warm up the engine will stall again, when you re-start the car it will run for 2 mins then stall, start it again and it could run for a bit longer before it stalls again, the garage has changed the coilpack and the throttle position sensor but the problem still persists, with the current work they've done i'm probably looking at £300 reppair bill before they've even fixed the problem. The garage has had a auto electrician out as well and not even he could find it.

Garage will be looking into it deeper tomorrow and if they can't find the fault will be speaking to the mechanic to decide what's best, whether to do a engine transplant or sell the 206 for parts and maybe buy another gti in different colour

Matt, if it's an issue with the engine, I've got a complete GTi lump with gearbox, Loom and ECU out of a pre-plexed GT if it's any good.

Just don't break your car over something like that. Cause it's a lovely motor and be a shame for it to be seperated into various other cars.

what was the fault code that car logged? if the eml came on it should of logged a fault code weather permanent or intermittant. Have they done any diagnosis or just basically been swapping bits in the hope it cures it?
Not being rude but if its between scrapping the car or not maybe worth getting another garage to look at it?

shame its a bit of a trek with a car thats playing up because we do specialise in diagnostics at our place and have all the equipment etc if our master tech kev cant fix it then it is proper knackered lol just a thought if worst comes to worst ill gimme a shout and ill give you our number

Thanks Uz

The mechanic will be looking into it more tomorrow and depending on what he finds i will speak to him then and see what the next best step is

I really want to keep the car but it's cost me £300 so far and the problem still isn't fixed

well if the parts they put on havent fixed th eproblem then tell them to return the parts.
Shouldnt be made to pay for parts that arent needed tbh

to me it sounds temp related.
coolant temp sensor or intake air temp sensor
