#1: How To Get Light Scrapes Polished Out Of My Windscreen? Author: Jaeger, Location: UKPosted: Mon May 21, 2012 1:55 pm ---- Basically I bought a set of budget windscreen wiper blades, they were sh*t!!
After 2 weeks the metal strips holding the rubber started to slide out but no damage was done as I picked it up in time.
I then stuck some clear tape on the end just to hold it temporarily in place until I could get a new set.
But it rained heavily that week and by the time I got a new set the tape had lightly scraped my windscreen about a 1/2’’ line not deep but many of them.
This is the driver’s side by the way.
Anybody know what I could use to polish out the scrapes?
Or if it’s fixable?
Thanks

Do you have windscreen cover?

I will try that Jewelers Rouge stuff.
No it's not BAD, it's like when you rub them dry for a while but the tape did that...it was ether tape to glass or metal to glass.
But it's only in the top right corner.
And no I will not be trying any wool or pads!

I think the people who chose to drive around with no insurance do slightly more damage than that. Company's like autoglass don't charge much more than you pay on windscreen excess unless it's a replacement windscreen. I would imagine the insurance make some money from the excess you pay. I had a chip replaced on a cortina I was helping to repair and we only paid autoglass £55 to do the job. My windscreen excess is £80.
