Biscuits go soft when out of date, Cakes go hard. It's a simple rule that supermarkets haven't grasped. Simples Laughing

Kit-kats. Are they a chocolate bar or a biscuit?
They can't be a chocolate covered biscuit because they are sold next to Mars Bars and Penguins should be sold there too using that theory.

And why do egg boxes have "Keep refrigerated" on them when supermarkets have them on display miles away from the fridges.

But to get back on topic. I'm guessing that there is little sympathy from a few of us for someone running up the a**e of another car.

Ah never, try giving the bloke a ring and offer cash to repair the vehicle?

Ask him not to bother going through insurance. The worst he can say is no and then it will have an effect.

It's what I'd do. Most people seem to be pretty decent these days, give him a call pretty quick though, may have already claimed.

Good luck, glad you're alright.

If someone ran in to me then offered me money to repair the damage I would simple refuse & insist on going the insurance route.

I had someone reverse into me last month. Damage was scratch on my bumper and broken grill.
The other car had no damage. Was a clio. Bumper to grill contact.
Was dealt with private and the other party paid me for one of the three quotes I had done. I calle the insurance as if it had to go though the insurance I wouldn't be able to claim as you need to make the claim within a set period. So I'd say it was good you called your insurers. Keep them updated on progress. And if the other party do let you pay privately then inform your insurers imidiately too. As this will then count as a zero claim. If u don't inform them of outcome then it will affect you premium.

Hi All,

Here is a list of parts that I need now my sisters boyfriend has looked at it.

Lights (Lenses are fine and lights just need new morrette surrounds, awaiting reply to PM)

Power Steering Header Tank (Cracked)

Number 1 Oxygen Sensor (Bent)

Airbox

Radiator

Fan/radiator plastic housing surround (Fan Survived :-))

Radiator Overfill Pipe (Kinked)

Bonnet (Have found a possible replacement, awaiting PM back)

Bonnet hinges

Bonnet Catch

In response to jamieElliott206 im living in Rushden at the moment so only up the road. Can you see what parts you have out of the newer list above and pm me individual prices and hopefully a 206info Wink deal if I had all bits you could scavenge out of the list from you.

in response to V9977 the only bent metal parts are the metal parts the headlights sit in, sisters boyfriend knows someone that can bend it all back into place.

Personally I think you will need a bit more than what is listed. The slam panel will have moved back, the headlight mounts can be straightened, but if they are not in the right place, it will affect the headlight alignment. You will be better off getting a front frame. Add on to that the clips and brackets that you always find damaged when you start dismantling a damaged car.

Before you go and spend money that you could put towards a replacement car, get a local bodyshop to come and do a quote. Most do it for free, just tell them you're a cash customer. They'll tell you it's beyond economical repair but should do the quote anyway. There could be damage that you haven't even thought about hiding behind the bumper. They bend then bounce back to shape.

Don't forget to contact a mod on here and ask them to change your account name. "my1stfkd206" has a nice ring to it

Why doesn't this suprise me??

An elderly woman pulled out in front of my wife last year, and scratched the side of my Camry (from front wing to boot), she asked not to go through insurance, I said no problem. She paid €800 to have the side of the car resprayed (I let her pick the bodyshop).
Whats the problem with that? She even called after the repair to see if we were happy.
Sometimes it's nice to be nice. Smile

If they were easily replaceable panels I would get the money for a bodyshop then just go buy some cheap second hand parts Laughing
