Has any body ever welded up the bonnet vents what is the vent used for I think I read something about it being connected to the pollen filter in one way or another

It's the intake for the cabin fan heater. Might give you issues with the cabin fan if welded up...

Take the vent off completely and just put some mesh on the underside of the bonnet to stop crap like leaves entering the engine bay.

Cheers lee for the input but I'm just on about the vents not the bonnet lol I'm tempted to change it in to a box vent to give it more of a track car look I need to find a pic to explaine what I mean really

I wouldn't weld it up unless u got another vent somewhere. If you do you'll get problems with the blower motors burning out, and the lack of ventilation will cause the windows to permanently mist up and eventually have a constant damp smell.
