im supposed to be working but my 206 has other ideas, not only does it flag abs fault, but also asr/esp malfunction and an anti-polution fault and it is now in limp mode.

Rant Not Over, i have to get back to work.....

P.S. Severly Hacked Off

You havent got HID's fitted have you? could be playing with the ecu. If you have relocate the ballast and it should sort it out.

i do have hids, but have done since i bought the car, the ballest is located in the inner wing, using the wing mounting screw.

would an abs sensor trigger the esp/asr fault. i know about the anti-pollution fault not to worried as im getting used to that (it to do with an overboost, caused by the dpf removal, i have a seperate thread about it).

the other thing is why would it put the car into limp mode, is it worth taking the car to a remote location and getting the aa out to look at it.

could it just be that the electrics are wet ???? been raining like a monsoon in swindon all day

the ABS,and ESP/ASR are the passive safety systems, when one of these stop working, others will do,because it's all connected together somehow,so the best thing to do is to get a fault code reading, with a prof. tool will be better than a univeral one,as you will know exactlly what is wrong without guessing

Check for water in the ABS pump,or maybe you got a faulty sensor on one of the wheels, the lips mode is a safety process so that you don't drive the car with these important systems are not working, they want to save your life I guess Very Happy

i posted that just afer it happened, and was well and truly f'ed off, it didnt help i was supposed to be working (i use my own car), since then i have had time to read up on it and it seems a common issue. i did think the 2 were related as the abs controls the asr/esp or the other way round. and yes it makes sense for it to put it into limp mode, dont help me none when im working though.

ill get it checked out on wed, when my mate gets back to work (he's on honeymoon atm), best case is its just wet and needs to dry, medium case is an abs sensor needs replacing, worse case is the abs/esp pump is buggered £1000 to replace Sad = car getting stripped for spares lol

what you got left as i could do with some other bits

1, air doser + all vac pipes (mine functions, but mount is perished, so rattles about alot, also the top pipe is split)
2, the turbo
3, possibly the esp/abs pump will find out wed when i get my car looked at, although i may be able to claim for it under warrenty.

@lee

im not sure what its like, is it safe to just plug a tester onto it, or do i have to do the 10min cool down/ disconnect etc

Yeah, i've got those, not sure what an air doser is, but i think i know what it is Very Happy

The engine bay is last on my list, got pretty much it all left, dpf has gone tho.

the air doser is the big box, that sits to the left of the engine, the intercooler feeds into it.

dont worrie about the DPF, i have had mine removed and stage 1 remapped.

what sort of prices would you want for the bits listed, also how many miles have they done.

I'd have to let you know on price.

Car had done 62k, engine was fine, i do miss it, i know these cars are slaughtered on here, but i loved mine :/

I'd still have it, but binned it on a corner Sad

ouchies Sad

i know they wont be cheap but, im hopeing they will be cheap enought, as said i know how much pug want for the various parts, thats my car written off if i have to go down that route, i may still be able to claim on warrenty if im lucky, as i have not passed the 12month period yet.

but im fairly certain the doser, pipework, and turbo wont be covered, but i will check on wed when there open again.

so i took my car to get read yesterday due to the multitude of fault codes, it was stuck in limp mode, so as i had some time to kill and it was on the way i stopped a tescos (to get my glasses fixed) anyway i come out get in car, start it, auto light came on, auto wipers came on, abs fault in dash, esp/asr malfunction on display and dash, anti pollution fault in dash and display, so as it was not raining that hard i turned the wipers off auto, next thing the auto lights go off, and all errors disapear.

took it to my mate anyway, who code read it, only one code could be found, something about fuel additive too high (i had just finished running through a bottle of fuel cleaner), that was it the only code.

then today i get in the car to go to work and the damdest message pops up, unblock diesel filter, now this would be a worrie, but i dont have a DPF anymore ???

so i think its just the electrics getting wet somehow. will investigate when it stops monsooning outside, any pointers where to look.

squeeker, i am still interested in hte turbo and air doser if reasonable prices.

Hmmm that is a bit of a beffudling one, whats the earth strap like?

And also the ABS pump never really fails, its the ECU attached to it which CAN be seperated on some like what i had to do to mine

Had one kicking about, admitttedly mine was preplex (may be the same for multi, i dont know), took about 20 minutes to swap and bang tidy
