#1: p**sed Off......Advice Author: starkygti, Location: ScotlandPosted: Sun Jun 03, 2012 1:58 pm ---- ok, so before i begin, i forgot to disconnect the battery, hope this isnt cost me..
so my heaters constantly kicking out hot air on full speed.. i have read through posts about it being the resistor etc.. so i followed the how to guide, got glovebox out etc..
managed to get the heater motor out.. but no resistor... felt everywhere couldnt find anything inside duct... google search, somebody said it would be behind the dials, so unscrew that etc, take cables out the dials... no sign of the resistor.. did another search, found that the resistor is build into the motor... fair enough... plugged my dials back in, put it all back together ( the dials) started engine, needles aint responding, or milage showing up... all other functions work.. feel totally gutted about this btw, trying to fix one problem and create a new one..
could anybody help me out inregards to getting my dials working and also, am i right in saying the resistor is built into certain heater motors?
cars a 2000GTi
i hope its nothing, but i seem to have the worst luck in the world at the moment.... somebody save me!!

Dunno if it will do anything but maybe a bsi soft rebot there's a guide on here, might work not 100% sure though.

#7: Re: p**sed Off......Advice Author: starkygti, Location: ScotlandPosted: Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:31 pm ---- no, didnt think id need to.. the dials still light up, do they run on different fuses.. what fuses do i need to check.. or should i just check them all..
surely a fuse cant stop the pins from moving and the mileage coming up??

Use a multimeter not just visual check.
