#1: Bonnet Wrapping Author: Still_Rolling, Location: KetteringPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:10 pm ---- So after my old 1.4 206, I bought myself a dark blue (Dunno which specific blue) GTi, as you do. Wasn't in great nick, had a missing arch extension, 3 missing mudflaps, passenger door didnt fit properly, handbrake shagged, 1 bald tyre, 1 blowout after 10 miles...
Anyway, I've tidied it up a bit now, but the bonnet is covered in stone chips, and I want it looking better before FCS...
Is it worth wrapping the bonnet? I was thinking Matt Black, because I reckon carbon's been overdone. Or maybe a gloss black... Or something mental, like Ford RS green... Anyone got any opinions?
BTW it's got the SP kit on it, with the shiny bonnet vent.
#2: Re: Bonnet Wrapping Author: Seabook, Posted: Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:19 pm ---- matt black looks like a poor respray bonnet
gloss black looks like a non-spray bonnet
could do with a pink bonnet i recon.

#4: Re: Bonnet Wrapping Author: Still_Rolling, Location: KetteringPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:40 pm ---- Haha pink... or orange...
Marc, the problem is they've been touched up already, quite badly too. It actually looks like the bonnet has acne. I think a new bonnet and a respray's in order.

respray it

#7: Re: Bonnet Wrapping Author: DJKaySee, Location: UK, England,NottinghamPosted: Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:41 am ---- Not a fan of having the bonnet a different colour from the rest of the car.
I personally would get it resprayed (do it yourself it you can).
#8: Re: Bonnet Wrapping Author: Lex206, Location: HollandPosted: Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:12 am ---- i read a lot of stories about people who wrapped their bonnet and cause of the tempature you get bubbles, and they keep coming back.

Sounds legit, didn't think of that...
#10: Re: Bonnet Wrapping Author: craigy00craig, Location: surreyPosted: Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:09 pm ---- you can get a new bonnet for less then the cost of a respray or wrap... and if you were to get it wrapped you will still be able to see any inperfections in the paint underneath.
