It would explain why the plugs damaged too. I would say the cam is partly responsible here. Too tight a tolerance to the piston..... miss one gear and its contact time

High revving cam on old valves and its sheared and dropped in.

Lol it did do it alright so if you ever have your sub frame off just check the weld that holds the gear pivot...learn from my expensive mistake.

I held it on the limiter between the two corners and it let go on the exit of the left opener as I changed to 3rd..... oops
