#16: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:18 pm ---- Iirc that 205gti180 guy say he achieved a decent gain on his 180 engine with standalone management and a remap. I guess this would backup the point of UK 180's producing less to pass emissions.
#17: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Johnbyron, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:23 pm ---- True but an RC wouldn't have a standalone management system would it ?? But I definitely see where your coming from, emissions restrictions are a joke!!
#18: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:25 pm ---- nope it wouldn't indeed. But the mapping would be/probably is different
#19: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Johnbyron, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:31 pm ---- Agreed I think it would be a good idea if we had a topic listing all the 180's/RC's that have mods/no mods and have rolling road figures making it easier to compare all results
#20: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:22 pm ---- well my 180 has a janspeed and piper x panel filter and that was RR @ 177 at the flywheel done on a bloody hot day (one of the few) in march this yr.
we also ran 15 other cars and the rollers were pretty much spot on going by the numbers some had had on other rollers elsewhere.
#21: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Ali_H, Location: Chichester, SussexPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:36 pm ---- Mine made 169.7 and 170.9 with just the Viper Induction kit on it. No car is the same tbh.
#22: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:39 pm ---- no your dead right there ali also air temps can make a big diffrence as can the rollers themselves
#23: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Johnbyron, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:43 pm ---- Yeah that's right but if we got a list made we could gather different rr results with certain mods and work out averages with them mods and also see which mods work best etc etc .
#24: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Lex206, Location: HollandPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:46 pm ---- very true,air temp.and different rollers make a huge difference.
i pulled out a 149bhp with my gti, only with sportex exhaust and viper induction kit.
had the intake right behind the bumper and full 'in'the blower..never expected 149..well think it was 148.9bhp
#25: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:46 pm ---- could be a plan fella i will try to get my other 180 on the rollers soon and see what that makes.
#26: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Johnbyron, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:48 pm ---- Think I'll put mine on the RR's at FCS I'm sure I saw something about there been one set up there, mines standard tho so should be interesting
#27: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:54 pm ---- well both mine got janspeeds on them but the red one got the filter aswell but both un mapped.
i'm never to keen on them mobile rollers never used one on a car but with my bikes they never seemed to give the same results as a static set ups.
#28: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Johnbyron, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:58 pm ---- Hmm well I might just leave it untill I get it remapped then , can you actually tell a difference with janspeed?? Or is it not noticeable apart from the sound ?
#29: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 3:24 pm ---- reddot roller always gave you lovely bhp
#30: Re: Gti180 BHP Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:14 am ---- My 180 made 171bhp with a Janspeed cat back, de-cat and pannel filter at RST a few years ago.
