#1: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: adamb, Location: MansfieldPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:23 am ---- Right i bought a 206 1.6 Roland Garros after my car is being investigated after an accident.
I think the clutch is going, my symptoms are when in higher gears cruising, if i put my foot down it picks up in revs quite quick then they drop and increase with speed as normal. It was only in 5th gear last week however it is 4th and sometimes 3rd now.
How easy is it to change a clutch? does the engine need to come out?
Are there any guides
Thanks in advance

I dont think the engine needs to come out.
#3: Re: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: adamb, Location: MansfieldPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:31 am ---- mechanical experience is no problem
im currently rebuilding my classic mini pickup with a 1.8 k series in
and ive always got my dad who is good with mechanics
however i have never changed a clutch before, so any advice is good.
Do you think the clutch needs changing or is it something else?

#5: Re: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: adam_w_1, Location: EssexPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:59 am ---- I would say the clutch! Happened to mine at Christmas..., I kept it alive a little longer by avoiding the point where it starts to slip (where the revs build quickly before 'catching' again).

is it a 3 part kit clutch kit i need. i have found one on ebay and they have said it will fit my car, i should be able to fit in inside of a weekend hopefully.
am i alright to post links to ebay for people to see and check?

#8: Re: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: adamb, Location: MansfieldPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:42 am ---- the seller said it will fit my car, so if it the clutch going may as well bite the bullet and get the 3 piece and replace as much as i can at the same time i think
#9: Re: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:56 am ---- You are better off getting the whole kit rather than just the plate as the release bearings are fairly s**t so may aswell do it all while the box is off.
#10: Re: 1.6 RG clutch going? Author: adamb, Location: MansfieldPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:02 am ---- that is the whole kit isn't it? thought that was the plate, bearing and diaphragm?
