same basic block, but injectors turbo maf, etc etc are all different in the S3, LCR engines, plus the AGU is cable operated whereas the others are all drive by wire.

Right there isn't much updates atm as i have moved in with the girlfriend and we've been getting things sorted in the house and garden recently plus working means time is limited i can spend on the car. I am looking at getting the golf down to our house in the garage where the engine currently is so i can crack on getting the engine mounted in the bay so i can make some decisions on what to do with the bay as i have a few idea's.

The AGU lump is only the 150bhp engine but does have a forged crank and can easily handle 220-230bhp in standard from with a good air filter, exhaust system and remap which in a front wheel drive car is plenty. I may consider upping the power more by upgrading to a KO4s turbo and injector's etc which should see me hit 280-300bhp ish providing i can put the power down due to traction.

I've currently got the engine partly stripped down so i can change the pick up pipe for the turbo and the belts/tensioners as its 10yrs old and i don't have any info on if they have been done. Currently i'm looking into have a lightened flywheel with a new clucth, while it's in pieces i'm unsure whether to have parts powered coated on chorme/gold/nickle plated unsure on anything as i kinda go with the flow as to speak.

Hopefully have some photo's soon once there is anything worth posting tbh

lovely car mate, nice to see another mk2 owner on here! also must be nice to have a tornado red that isn't pink Laughing

does anything else off the audi fit? ie subframe, wishbones etc? vag stuff is great for compatibility

heres mine in action!

The subframe was knackered so it's ended up in the bin same as lot of the bits i didn't really need as i don't have the space to keep everything lol. VAG cross compatibility is great i'm still keeping an eyeout for some things that i'm going to need but not in a major rush to get them.

Right small update but a couple of photo's for you, i have started to strip everything of the block/head so it can be degreased and cleaned ready to be painted, i have never before stripped an engine to this point so i have no idea if i'll remember where everything goes when i reassemble it all lol anyway

Hey folks no real updates on this i'm afraid =( not had any spare cash due to been in/out of work constantly the last few months which really sucks. I did get another year older at the back end of 2010 and the one indoors brought me an awesome present of a Westmoorland front grill & headlights. These are USA spec and uber rare to get in the uk so well happy about that (couple of photo's below)

In other news i'm going to look into going back to college and retraining in vehicle repair as i enjoy it and the idea is to be able to open my own bodyshop in the future undertaking on modded vehicle work etc but thats a long way off lol
