#5: Re: Sloppy handling Author: swaynie, Location: United KingdomPosted: Mon Jun 25, 2012 11:57 am ---- Yrs but its only when I turn right
#6: Re: Sloppy handling Author: swaynie, Location: United KingdomPosted: Mon Jun 25, 2012 3:52 pm ---- ive been outside and the rear is solid but there is play in the front osf wheel with my hands at 12 n 6 so this would mean bottom balljoints
#7: Re: Sloppy handling Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Mon Jun 25, 2012 7:54 pm ---- You can't fit just a ball joint it is complete with the arm. Arms are cheapish and a competent DIYer can do it in under 2hrs quite easily. There is a how to here:-
#8: Re: Sloppy handling Author: swaynie, Location: United KingdomPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:07 am ---- I'll get these replaced ASAP it's like driving jelly lol
#9: Re: Sloppy handling Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:25 am ---- you better do that early rather than later
#10: Re: Sloppy handling Author: swaynie, Location: United KingdomPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:58 pm ---- I've just ordered some meyle hd bits that should tighten up the front end
#11: Re: Sloppy handling Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Wed Jun 27, 2012 5:01 pm ---- Cheap or expensive; ignore the clunking and squeaking and any ball joint will do this in the end.
I also notice they are relatively new tyres, I bet they were put on because the play in the joint caused the tyres to wear very prematurely. A new wishbone is cheaper than 1 tyre. In fact, if you fit them yourself, a pair of wishbones is cheaper than 1 tyre!
Some won't agree with that but with my discount I can often get QH wishbones (leading and VERY reputable aftermarket manufacturer) for £28 incl. VAT.
If you live near Swindon I might supply and fit for a reasonable fee.
#12: Re: Sloppy handling Author: swaynie, Location: United KingdomPosted: Wed Jun 27, 2012 5:05 pm ---- Cheers for the reply but I've just bought some meyle arms and links as there the best of the best and should stiffen up the front end
