ive been outside and the rear is solid but there is play in the front osf wheel with my hands at 12 n 6 so this would mean bottom balljoints

You can't fit just a ball joint it is complete with the arm. Arms are cheapish and a competent DIYer can do it in under 2hrs quite easily. There is a how to here:-

I've just ordered some meyle hd bits that should tighten up the front end

Cheap or expensive; ignore the clunking and squeaking and any ball joint will do this in the end.

I also notice they are relatively new tyres, I bet they were put on because the play in the joint caused the tyres to wear very prematurely. A new wishbone is cheaper than 1 tyre. In fact, if you fit them yourself, a pair of wishbones is cheaper than 1 tyre!

Some won't agree with that but with my discount I can often get QH wishbones (leading and VERY reputable aftermarket manufacturer) for £28 incl. VAT.

If you live near Swindon I might supply and fit for a reasonable fee.

Cheers for the reply but I've just bought some meyle arms and links as there the best of the best and should stiffen up the front end Very Happy
