#1: Clutch Pedal hit the floor after a click Author: borinous, Location: EssexPosted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 2:31 am ---- Yesterday while driving around i depressed the clutch to change down a gear and it click/clunked and the pedal hit the floor...my first reaction was that the clutch cable had broken.
But i touched the pedal again and it popped back up and then the clutch worked fine so the cable is still intact??
Any ideas?

But personally I WOULD worry about it as it won't get better and is liable to slip the ratchet and let the clutch out sharply when you don't want it like at the end of gearchange or even worse when waiting to move off at a junction, that wouldn't be funny. They usually go when you're putting the clutch in ( as you've found) but there's your first warning. It's probably going to leave you stranded with no ability to change gears on the wettest day
I would put a new cable in as soon as possible
