#17: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: 206boyracer, Location: Sunny CornwallPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:20 am ---- HIDs are going to be illegal soon unless they are self cleaning.
#18: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: Shortstuff, Location: GloucesterPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:23 am ---- HIDs were illegal if headlights werent self cleaning

Author: 206boyracer, Location: Sunny CornwallPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:26 am ---- When I was at the mot station yesterday talking to the chap he said they are not going to be allowed to pass them soon. I don't know the ins and outs as I haven't got them but he said don't bother getting them.
#20: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:31 am ---- Ouch, are the sideskirts-bumpers that bad? I thought they were pretty cool as most 206's look the same barring the bonnet grills etc, but if the general idea is that they are not that good then I might get them changed! I'm not too bothered myself but I don't want people thinking my car looks awful. Here are pictures of the front and back bumpers. Are they really that bad lol
Thanks very much for the feedback
#21: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:35 am ---- unfortunately they are mate, several years ago they may have been ok but the trend now is pure oem
#22: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: 206boyracer, Location: Sunny CornwallPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:38 am ---- Don't let other people put you off. If everyone did that all our cars would look the same. If you like them keep them. There are always going to be people that don't like something. That's why there is such a selection of aftermarket parts.
#23: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:39 am ---- No worries Matty. That's how I bought the car, as you can see it's still in the garage in those pics. So I can always do a makeover providing the costs aren't sky high, hence the asking of suggestions from you guys
Boyracer - well said. But I do like to find a balance between what I like and what is considered sound by most others so that as a rule it is okay by most people's standards. No point in me liking something if most other people would laugh at it!

#25: Re: New on here, just bought a GTI 180 (attached) suggestions? Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 7:22 am ---- I think it looks fine. The paintwork looks good on the splitters ect and its not a huge power ranger style bodykit. Do what you want as its your car. You will never get everyone to like your car, so just make sure YOU like it.

Author: DJKaySee, Location: UK, England,NottinghamPosted: Sat Jul 14, 2012 10:23 am ---- Do what you like to your car, personally I like them looking smart and unique, but a lot of people on here will say do this do that and get what everyone else is doing, there are some general things however.
I have angel eyes, there not amazing light output but I could see on a dark country lane fine. Personally I hate the look of Morettes and Phase 2 Rear lights and I will do my own take on the car whilst trying to make it smart at the same time.
The guys on here know a lot about 206 and everything you need to know can be found out no problems, however when it comes to appearance, do what you feel is best for YOUR car.
After all
Your the one that drives it.
