#1: Tight as a.... Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:11 am ---- Just bought some Bosch super 4s for the pug, went to take the old plugs out, and there all as tight as a nun apart from one? The engine was still slightly warm when I attempted it so thought this might have been the problem, expansion and all...
Any suggestions? I'm gunna try again first thing in the morning.
Also... Is there a oem tool for the 206? Cause they ain't half awkward to get to on the little 1.1 mower
Cheers

#3: Re: Tight as a.... Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:20 am ---- Not really awkward to get too, just can't get the right leverage with the spark plug remover I've got....

#5: Re: Tight as a.... Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:24 am ---- Here's the tool I'm using
Wouldn't say I'm the weakest guy either, they are solid, won't budge at all
#6: Re: Tight as a.... Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:29 am ---- Spark plug remover + a normal ratchet will get them off easy, you just can't get leverage with that tool never used one myself doesn't look that practical
#7: Re: Tight as a.... Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:32 am ---- Yeah, it is a tad awkward, I do have a spark plug socket somewhere so will give it a go with that when the engine cool
#8: Re: Tight as a.... Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:37 am ---- If you can get a pipe on the end or even mole grips to get a bit more leverage it would probably work
#9: Re: Tight as a.... Author: Seabook, Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:38 am ---- socket and extension bar will do the job.
#10: Re: Tight as a.... Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:40 am ---- 8 valve TU spark plugs must be about the easiest ones to do there is, 10 minute job tops.

#12: Re: Tight as a.... Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:45 am ---- Alright I know changing the spark plugs are easy, I'm just struggling to remove them cause some knob'ed has over tightened them.

#14: Re: Tight as a.... Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:49 am ---- Why do I get the feeling the threads in the cylinder head are going to be damaged
I havent used a torque wrench on spark plugs in years BUT the job I do everyday you can just feel when something is correctly tightened OR a thread is damaged.
#15: Re: Tight as a.... Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:52 am ---- Wonder if we have some cross-threaded action on the cards...??
