Erratic Speedo
-> 206 Problems

Hi new 206 owner. Car is fine but I'm having problems with the speedo. It doesn't happen all the time but I have seen it jump as much as 10-12mph even though I am doing a consistent speed. Is this a common problem and if so is there a fix?

Thanks Phil

Year of 206?

There are different electrical systems & also different ways of triggering the speedo so we need more info before we can help you.

Im guessing its a pre october 2001 car from the original question.

Speedo will be driven by the ABS system then.

The instrument clusters on these dont normally go wrong Confused

Any other odd electrical faults happening on the car?

No just seems to be the speedo.

Really needs scanning with Peugeot Planet.

If your tempted to fit a replacement cluster be warned they have anti clocking built in!

Any replacement cluster you connect to the car MUST have a LOWER mileage then the car is currently showing, the car will automatically put the correct mileage on the cluster for you.

These multiplexed 206 speedo's dont normally ever go wrong Confused

This is only the 2nd time in 7 years ive heard of someone having an issue with the speedo.
