Loose battery connection OR defective battery.

Check the alternator charge rate to.

Get your alternator checked too,no point sticking a new battery on if
your alternators knackered

i wouldnt have thought it be the alternator as the car has only done 16k but i know the battery may have been swaped as i have cars standing and tend to swap batterys to get them going but i supose checking alternator wont do no harm. .
I have also had a smell of burnning rubber if anyone has experienced this? and its not cam or fan belt as i have checked them
