So! Got the correct water pump today, and my engine mount arrived Smile
Great i thought, so whipped the pump off, drained the coolant etc, cleaned up fitted new one, pic here -

Got the new belt on along with new idler & tensioner with a bit of swearing involved, checked timing & tension a couple of times after this picture, all good -

Knew it was going too well, started removing my knackered engine mount only to realise it wasnt undoing at all, just spinning Sad

The tack weld that was holding the captive nut had broken so had to remove the headlight to gain access to the nut.

Heres the little sucker!

So once that was all sorted fitted my new mount

Then my phone ran out of battery lol but the important bits had been photographed.
Put my cam covers back on and auxiliary belt etc, and finished servicing it.
Connected everything up put fresh coolant in and fired her up! So good to hear it running after the last 2 days Smile Checked everything over and bled my coolant. Job done!
Not a particularly enjoyable job overall if im honest and between me and the old man we came to the conclusion it would be a b***h to do by yourself. I owe him big time for all the help but its finally done Smile

Today i spent the day replacing my clutch due to a noisy release bearing. To be honest it was just as much of a ballache as replacing the cambelt!
So as of 13/02/14 and approx 72,800 miles it has a new LUK clutch kit, Total BV gearbox oil and new sleeve on the input shaft, as well as fresh fluid.

A couple of pics from today Smile

Bit of a mission getting the box out but eventually got there and whipped the clutch off to find this....

You can see the grooves in the cover springs the bearing has been making, and also in the springs in the clutch plate :/ plus when spinning the bearing it made the most horrendous noise (to be expected hearing the noise it was making when running!)

Aaaanyway gave the box a quick wipe over with brake cleaner and the airline Wink Hasnt come up brand new obviously but it looks a lot better in person to be honest!

Popped the arm off, cleaned out and regreased the pivot ball. Replaced the worn sleeve with new one, and greased that lightly too before it went back in.

Last picture, fitted the new clutch ready to reassemble!

Got it all back together and bled the clutch up which was a bit of a nightmare but its done now. Since driving it ive noticed the clutch pedal is a lot lighter, clutch is smoother and quieter obviously but perhaps most importantly the faint clutch judder i had has completely disappeared. Really nice to drive now. I owe a big thanks to a couple of my mates that lent a massively helpful hand today too.

The clutch judder is not something I will miss about my 180. Had it from day one but never seemed to get any worse in the 3 years of owning it. Glad its all worked out mate

Haha just go for it whats the worst that can happen? The cars are fairly simple its just the space you have to work in, makes it 10x worse.
Oh mate i couldnt deal with that, the clutch is lush now so smooth and light, only take a day and thats if you do it on a driveway taking your time etc.

Cheers mate Smile Will hopefully see yours at a couple of shows this year? Which exhaust system do you mean the one that came on the car? If so it got cut up a little while ago because i couldnt get rid of it Sad

Today ive done the job thats been bugging me for a while! My roof gutter strips have been manky and grey for a while and although they look okay will a bit of trim dressing on them they fade quickly. Its the one thing thats really been letting the exterior down, so i took them to work and painted them gloss black, the pictures don't really do it justice, they look a million times better Smile

Bought the new clips from Peugeot, they look like this if anyones interested.

Now, i removed the old ones, and quickly noticed my car wasnt as clean as i thought lol!

Nice and clean in there now though Wink

Anyway, this is how they looked beforehand, they are shown against the gloss black plastics on my bike to show how much they've faded to grey, and for some reason worn through to the alloy underneath in one place, can see in the first pic.

Excuse the swirls in the black, they are bike plastics after all lol

Heres how they looked after painting and just before fitting...

Will wait for the paint to fully harden for a few days and then give them a good polish get them looking smooth, very happy with how they look now though, something thats been annoying me for a long time and its improved the overall look massively, with the added bonus of being nice and clean under there now Smile
Few pics fitted, dont look very glossy in the pictures for some reason lol but will try and get better pics once polished...

Also gave the bike a little spruce up afterwards, with the roads warming up a bit now hopefully ill be able to ride it properly again soon, only been round the town a couple of times lately.

looking good mate, once removed were there any holes that water could get in etc? Looking to get mine colour coded but would prefer to leave the strips at the bodyshop rather than the car
