#1: 1.6 xsi sump plug Author: Neil206, Location: COVENTRYPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 4:41 am ---- bought a new plug and seal from peugoet, come to tighten it up, and it tightens upto tight (maybe a tad tighter than tough tigh - if that makes any sense haha) but if tightened any more will become loose again
and i dont want to be driving along and have the plug become loose,
isit normal for the plug to be like this? if the above makes any sense at all

What was the old sump plug like to remove? Does that tighten up ok?

it suppose to hold tight. screw driver is more then enough to tighten the sump plug.

Other then that its a new sump.
helicoil is easy to use
but ithough you need to take the sump off the car first?

Don't drive it like it is - well maybe to the garage and then watch the oil light very closely and stop immediately if the pressure drops or light comes on
