bought a new plug and seal from peugoet, come to tighten it up, and it tightens upto tight (maybe a tad tighter than tough tigh - if that makes any sense haha) but if tightened any more will become loose again

and i dont want to be driving along and have the plug become loose,

isit normal for the plug to be like this? if the above makes any sense at all

cheers in advance, neil

Sounds like a stripped thread OR incorrect sump plug.

What was the old sump plug like to remove? Does that tighten up ok?

you will need to rethread the sump then.

it suppose to hold tight. screw driver is more then enough to tighten the sump plug.

Sounds like the thread is stripped in the sump then.

You might be able to get a helicoil repair done on it BUT its a job for an expert / someone that knows what there doing!

Other then that its a new sump.

Sump repair. it can be done in situ (few will though) and it won't be cheap. Don't drive it like it is - well maybe to the garage and then watch the oil light very closely and stop immediately if the pressure drops or light comes on

Why not do it yourself?

You need to call the garage that you will have the work done at.

It doesn't matter what anyone says on here unless they are doing the job.
