Ive just got a hold of this from ebay, which to all intents has worked(read my fault codes) but i know i can use it to activate things. For instance, if i wanted to activate auto locking, how would i do that?

Also, i have 2 faults, if i try to clear them, it says error, any ideas? I also noticed there is a 40 limit on error codes, what happens when you hit that?

Thanks

Yes you can activate items, bsi configuration.

BSI > Configuration > Customer options > Locking and Openings

If you reach 40 then the memory is full and you can never clear fault codes again. So if it's in limp mode, it will stay in limp mode for ever. You have to get the eeprom cleared or get a new ECU, both cost around the same.

If it says error....engine running or not?

China clone doesn't always let you view graphic parameters

Test by ECU > EDC15 > Parameters > Air and Fuel

Oh thought you had a HDi, not GTi.

So it will be IAW or S2000 not EDC15

Have been out to have a play tonight, activated the auto locking! I cant clear my codes though, is this because it is a clone? Also, how can i find out my ECU? I dont have the parameter option either ECU>IAW or S2000 doesnt show.

each time you clear the fault code the ecu will log the history; up to 40 times. after the limit you can no longer clear the fault code.

have seen so many time people need to bin the ecu because of this

It also helps teach dicks who don't know what they are doing a lesson!

You must have got yours from Sydmaz who pretends to be in Nelson, Lancashire then.

I got mine from him too. Not been able to get Diagbox to work yet though.

You never noticed the service history when you clear codes?

It's 50 on some ECUs

And it's not just PSA

I know of the 'fault log' which can store hundreds of codes, not just 50?

Knowing my luck that will be why i cant clear my subarus

Nope, service history is only usually 50; then you have to clear the data from the eeprom.

Like in the EDC15 you have to clear it in the 95P08 and you can use ECU V00.05

I got it working eventually, but my hard drive then crashed! I hope it was a coincident, and not faulty software. I'll try again and let you know how to do it
